Props to Dave for being eons ahead of Mark Frauenfelder on recognizing the importance of TED|Talks.

Dave has posted extensively about his time spent with TED|Talks here, and hosted a Knock Twice Radio show (April 15, 2007) featuring some TED|Talk lectures.

In short, TED is annual conference for hotties in the Technology Entertainment and Design fields where the attending intellectuals and free thinkers congregate to talk about the really cool things that they all do. TED|Talks is a portion of the TED website that offers up many of the lectures for watching in a free albeit edited form.

There is a lot of important and exciting work being done on this planet, and you can learn about a lot of it at TED|Talks.
