Today, Frauenfelder posted to Boing Boing referring to a super cool top 10 list, created by the folks over at Frogonazos, detailing The Top 10 Best Spacewalks in History.
Since childhood I have wanted to travel through space, and as an adult I often daydream about space flight. The images and descriptions of these spacewalks definitely get me fired up.
That being said, I personally believe that manned space flight is reckless. At this time it is simply too expensive to justify. With so many great inequities facing the people of this planet, there are more responsible ways to spend our riches: education, health care, agriculture, business development / job growth, and the environment. Besides, using satellites as our primary vehicle for exploration — of both our planet and beyond — Earth bound scientists will become very busy with new data, while saving lots of money.
